Self-Install

Self-Install runs the same software as Turnkey, on hardware you supply. You prepare the server, flash the Sensa image, and from there it behaves like a Turnkey unit: managed updates, managed backups, Sensa dashboard, full support.

The hardware has to be dedicated to Sensa. Self-Install is not the same as the DIY deployment, which installs Sensa on top of an existing Home Assistant.

Step-by-step content is being written. The outline below is what the guide will cover.

  1. Check your hardware against the supported list.
  2. Flash the Sensa image onto the server.
  3. First boot, sign in, and set your time zone.
  4. Pair your devices. See Prepare Devices.
  5. Move on to Configure.

Support covers the Sensa software and the Sensa image. Hardware support is your responsibility.
