The first time you sign in

The first time your system is handed to you, it walks you through a short setup before you reach your dashboards. It is a handful of screens, and it covers the few things that are yours to decide: your passwords, what your system shares, whether it tracks where the van goes, and how you and Sensa get back in if you ever need to.

When it appears​

  • If a dealer set the system up for you, the setup runs when they hand it over, not while they are still building it. The choices on it are yours, so the screen waits until the system is in your hands.
  • If you set the system up yourself, it runs the first time you sign in.

If the system ever passes to a new owner later on, the setup runs again for them. Nobody inherits the previous owner's answers.

What it asks​

The screens are shown in order, and your system only shows the ones that apply to it, so the counter always matches what is in front of you.

  • Welcome. A short introduction to what follows.
  • Passwords. Your system arrives with starting passwords so it can be set up. Here you replace them with your own. Until you have, your system will not open to the internet, which is covered under Reaching your system from anywhere.
  • What your system shares. The diagnostics switches, all off to begin with, that decide what information reaches Sensa to help us support you. See Diagnostics.
  • Where the van goes. Whether your system shares the van's location, for tracking and for the map in mySensa. See Navigation and tracking.
  • Getting in and getting help. Reaching your system while you are away from it, and letting Sensa Support in if you want a hand with something. See Reaching your system from anywhere and Remote support.
  • Name your vehicle. What your van is called across your screens and in mySensa.
  • Licence. Confirming the licence that lets Sensa run on your system.

What you choose, and the one thing we tell you​

Most of the setup is yours to set as you like, and it moves on whether you switch something on or leave it off. Tracking, the diagnostics switches and letting Sensa in are all off unless you turn them on, and none of them is forced on to get past the screen.

One part is not a choice: while your licence is in use, your system checks in with us from time to time to confirm it. That is stated as a fact rather than offered as a switch, because it is part of how your licence works. What the check-in involves is set out in the privacy policy.

You can change any of it later​

Nothing here is a one-off decision you are stuck with. Every choice on these screens is the same setting you will find afterwards in Settings, so turning something on now and off next week, or the other way round, is exactly as expected. The setup is there to walk you through the choices once, not to be the only place you can make them.
