Dump camera

Dumping grey water is done from the driving seat, with the van sat over the drain and no way of seeing it. So Sensa lets you add one camera, points it at the drain, and shows you the picture on the Cab dashboard with the valve button on top of it.

The dump camera is on the Pro, Vision and AI tiers. One camera per system: if Sensa finds a second, it is greyed in the Devices list with Only one camera supported, and you remove the first before you can swap it. See Supported devices.

Adding the camera

Any IP camera that streams video over your van's network will do. Fit it where it can see the drain outlet, connect it to the van's network, and it appears in the Devices list under Settings, tagged CAMERA. Add it as you would anything else.

A camera needs three things from you that it cannot tell Sensa itself, because they differ from one make to the next. Expand the camera's row on the Devices tab and fill them in:

• Stream Path. The last part of the camera's video address, from its manual or its own web page. Most cameras use something like stream1, which is what the row starts with.
• Username and Password. The login the camera asks for, if it asks for one.

Then press Apply Camera. The picture appears within a minute or so.

The Dump tab

Once a camera is added, the Cab dashboard gains a Dump tab, beside Navigation and Parking. It shows the camera full-screen, live. While it is starting it says Connecting to camera, and if the camera cannot be reached it says Camera offline, so you are never looking at an old frame.

If one of your relay channels operates the dump valve, a large Dump Valve button sits on the picture, bottom right, reading Open or Closed. Tap it to work the valve while you watch the drain. To wire it up, open Settings, choose the Devices tab, expand the relay controller, and set that channel's Device Type to Dump Valve. With no channel set that way, the picture appears on its own and the button reads No relay routed.

The picture is a few seconds behind real time, which is fine for watching a hose.

What it is not

This is a live view, not CCTV. Nothing is recorded, nothing is watched for you, and the camera plays no part in the Sentry scene. Recording and playback are planned for the Vision tier.
