Van Mode
Van Modes are a core part of Nomad and define the van’s overall scene. A mode can be selected manually by the user, or activated automatically through rules and automations.
Service: Prepares the van for garage visits, servicing, or maintenance work. Typical actions could include locking drawers, turning off the water pump, and enabling internal CCTV.
Sentry: Activates the van’s security setup when the user is away. Typical actions could include turning on all CCTV systems and sending phone notifications if vibration or door sensors are triggered.
Drive: Optimises the van for travel. Typical actions could include powering down most living-area devices while driving.
Park: Used when the van is parked and the user is in, or very close to, the van. Typical actions could include enabling the water pump and adjusting lights automatically based on daylight.
Standby: A lower-power version of Park mode. Typically used to conserve energy when the user is nearby but not actively using the van.
Movie: Sets the van up for a comfortable movie night. Typical actions could include adjusting lighting and powering entertainment devices.
Work: Prepares the van for productivity. Typical actions could include setting task lighting and powering a laptop dock and monitor.
Sleep: Prepares the van for bedtime. Typical actions could include turning off Starlink, the inverter, the water pump, and most other devices.
